'Support squad' uplifts coworker battling cancer

[Allina Health Newsroom, February 16, 2024] Kim Whitehead has worked for Allina Health for 20 years. To her teammates at the Allina Health Cottage Grove Clinic, she is the heart and soul of the place.

When Kim was diagnosed with central nervous system lymphoma, her coworkers wanted to make sure she knew they are always thinking of her and supporting her. So, they formed a support squad! They show up in every way possible – whether it’s visiting her through a hospital stay at United Hospital or rocking a ‘support squad’ shirt to make sure she is represented when she can't be there physically.
