It's time to get ready for 2025 Benefits Enrollment!
Nov. 4 - 18, 2024

Allina Health continues to offer the same four medical plans to meet your unique needs in 2025. We’ve been able to preserve our benefits while keeping the cost of medical coverage below the average increase for Minnesota companies and enhance several benefits.

Here’s what you need to know:

Do you need to make a change to your medical coverage for next year?

Now is a good time to review your 2025 options and select benefits that best fit your present needs. If you do not take action, your current medical plan election will carry over into 2025. All plan options and costs will be available in Workday, Nov. 4-18.

  • Enrollment is required only for the Flexible Spending Accounts (Health Care FSA, Limited Purpose FSA or Dependent Care FSA) and PTO Purchase. These elections do not carry over to 2025.
  • See where to find your medical premiums.
  • Consider your network options based on your care needs, use the Blue Cross Blue Shield of MN and Allina Health | Aetna (Elevate Plan only) sites to search network providers.
    • Narrow Network: Allina Health providers and limited affiliate partners
      • Allina Elevate Plan
      • Premier Health Savings Plan
    • Broad Network: Extended, nationwide network of 2 million providers
      • Allina First Plan
      • Select Health Savings Plan
  • To ensure the cost of medical coverage remains affordable for everyone, Allina Health employee medical plans will no longer cover prescriptions for GLP-1 weight loss medications for legacy members beginning Jan. 1, 2025. For more details on this change, please see the  GLP-1 Weight Loss Prescriptions Frequently Asked Questions.
  • Select Health Savings Plan deductible is increasing.  The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) requires qualifying high deductible plans to have an individual deductible of $1,650 and a family deductible of $3,300 for plan year 2025. The Select Health Savings Plan deductible will increase to these amounts.
  • For employees who follow non-contract benefits, a spousal surcharge continues to apply on the Allina First Plan and the Select Health Savings Plan to help control costs. Review common questions about the spousal surcharge to learn more.
Plus, there are a few enhancements to know about for 2025!
  • Preventive dental care services now covered at 100% for Delta Dental Premier network providers under the 6451 dental plan. Preventive care is an important component of your oral health and general health which is why we are covering preventive dental care services at 100% (up from 80%) under the Delta Dental Premier network. The Delta Dental PPO network already covers preventive dental care services at 100%.
  • Supplemental life insurance enhancements
    • Lower rates. Effective Jan. 1, 2025, supplemental employee life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment premiums are decreasing by 10%!
    • Additional coverage levels offered for spouse life insurance. You may elect coverage in increments of $25,000 up to a new maximum of $500,000 (previously $250,000).
With so much to consider, it's a great time to tap into these tools for decision-making support:
