FARIBAULT, Minn. (May 9, 2023) — Allina Health Cancer Institute – Faribault’s new expanded cancer center is now open to patients. By increasing access to cancer care beyond the Twin Cities metro area, Allina Health is honoring its commitment to provide fully integrated, easy-to-navigate, state-of-the-art cancer treatment and Whole Person Care for all.
Allina Health began construction on the cancer center expansion in January 2023. The project involved a collaborative design process called 3P. 3P is a prototyping and simulation process used to move projects forward quickly and efficiently by including a variety of customers such as patients, community members and care team members.
“We are incredibly grateful for an amazing community. Their generous support and input will ensure this new cancer center addresses the unique needs of patients, visitors and employees,” said Michael Johnston, president, Allina Health Faribault Medical Center. “The community has been alongside us on this journey since we started developing the new cancer center, and we hope this will be a comforting space for them to receive exceptional care.”
Allina Health Cancer Institute offers preventative care, early detection and treatment, including surgery, chemotherapy and infusion, as well as rehabilitation, palliative care and survivorship care.
“At Allina Health Cancer Institute, we believe in supporting all aspects of a patient’s care journey and providing the support and resources to guide them through the experience in a way that makes the most sense for their individual needs,” said Badrinath Konety, MD, president, Allina Health Cancer Institute. “We want all our patients to have access to the same level of expert care, close to home, and this expansion will ensure we can address the care needs of this community for years to come.”
