MINNEAPOLIS (May 4, 2023) — Allina Health is proud to announce it’s been awarded the 2022-23 Platinum Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health by Mental Health America (MHA). The platinum distinction is the highest level associated with the Bell Seal which is a first-of-its-kind workplace mental health certification that recognizes employers who strive to create mentally healthy workplaces for their employees.
“We are honored to be recognized as a Bell Seal recipient for our commitment to the mental health and well-being of our employees at a time when the healthcare industry continues to face many challenges,” said Lisa Shannon, president and CEO, Allina Health. “With this recognition, we are eager to celebrate the opportunities we offer and remain focused on continuing to further build support for our workforce to ensure that all those who work for Allina Health can flourish.”
MHA has spent decades researching mental health in the workplace, and in 2019, MHA introduced the Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health to recognize companies and organizations that understand the value of addressing mental health at work and implement policies and practices that support employee well-being.
The Bell Seal recognizes employer advances in workplace mental health by awarding Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum recognition levels. Allina Health underwent a rigorous evaluation of its policies and practices in four areas: workplace culture, benefits, compliance, and wellness programs.
“Employee mental health and well-being are necessary for us to serve our communities and provide exceptional and compassionate care,” said Meghan Miller, PsyD, LP, director, Allina Health Well-being and Culture. “At Allina Health, we promote a speak-up culture to ensure physical and emotional safety in the healthcare setting and to encourage employees to let us know how we can best support them. Our status as a Bell Seal-certified organization demonstrates Allina Health’s ongoing commitment to employee mental health and well-being.”
Allina Health is committed to providing the best for our employees and looks forward to our continued work to ensure we uphold the standards set forth by the Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health.
