NEW ULM, Minn. (Dec. 5, 2023) — Allina Health New Ulm Medical Center is partnering with three other groups to offer 20 full training scholarships to future emergency medical technicians (EMT).
“Our goal is to make sure all the communities we serve have accessible care. EMTs are a critical part of that service. EMT training creates a pathway to a meaningful career,” said Mark Newman, Operations Supervisor Allina Health EMS. “We are proud to offer this opportunity for those pursuing a healthcare career and to help bring more EMTs to our region.”
EMTs are trained to provide emergency medical care and safely transport patients in a variety of settings, including life-threatening emergencies and non-emergency medical situations. There is a high demand for EMTs in New Ulm and surrounding communities. Recipients of this scholarship could become an EMT for free in less than five months.
Hobart and Charlotte Anderson Estate, Southern MN EMS Education, Allina Health New Ulm Medical Center and Allina Health Emergency Medical Services partnered to create this scholarship program.
