Allina Health introduces new vice president of Women’s Health

Indy Lane, MD, will oversee The Mother Baby Center, a partnership between Allina Health and Children’s Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS (July 11, 2024) — Indy Lane, MD, has joined Allina Health as vice president of Women’s Health. In this role she will lead Women’s Health, which includes the full spectrum of women’s health from well woman care, OB-GYN, midwifery, gynecology, urogynecology and Allina Health birth centers, including The Mother Baby Center, a partnership between Allina Health and Children’s Minnesota.

Dr. Lane previously worked at Community Health Network in Indianapolis, where she served as physician executive of the women’s service line and an obstetrician-gynecologist. Under Dr. Lane’s leadership, Community Health Network developed a network-wide enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) care pathway for women undergoing benign hysterectomies improving overall length of stay and surgical site infections.

“Dr. Lane is an innovative leader with a passion for addressing the health care needs of women at every stage of their lives and a proven track record of improving access to high-quality patient care,” said Hsieng Su, MD, Allina Health chief medical executive. “Dr. Lane is also dedicated to supporting our caregivers by alleviating administrative burdens so they can focus on serving their patients. We are incredibly grateful to have Dr. Lane on the Allina Health team.”

In her previous position, Dr. Lane worked to stand up an Intimacy Clinic to address perimenopause/menopause, pelvic pain, and sexual dysfunction related to menopause or cancer treatment. With an interest in reducing racial disparities in maternal and infant mortality, Dr. Lane believes a commitment to facilitating cultural competency among caregivers and promoting an understanding of the diverse communities we serve will help build trust in the health care system.

“I am excited to be joining Allina Health and building on its tradition of high-quality care. In addition to disparities in health outcomes, I am interested in developing a more holistic approach to women's health that includes obstetric care but does not ignore the growing health needs women have during the many stages of their lives,” said Dr. Lane. “I am passionate about standardized care models and pathways that ensure patients are getting high-quality, evidenced based care regardless of site. Lastly, I want to work with the provider team to design models of care that support an improved work-life balance for providers while still delivering high quality care to the patients we serve.”

Dr. Lane received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Notre Dame, MBA from Indiana University, Kelley School of Business, and her Doctor of Medicine from the Indiana University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Vincent Hospital and Health Services in Indianapolis.
