“The goal of this program is career exploration and the opportunity for students to have more information as they are discerning their future education and career paths,” said Val Enter, RN, Director of Patient Care Services. “It also introduces students to areas of health care they may not be aware of. It’s gratifying to hear the students talk about their interest in the field as they attend a Scrub Club.”
The Buffalo Scrub Club has been held monthly throughout the school year to introduce young people to careers in health care and allow them to ask real professionals questions about their jobs and career paths.
In addition to inpatient nursing, the free events have focused on Emergency Department care, Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute services, Cardiac Imaging and more.
The final event for this school year will be held on April 14th and teach students about Surgical Services & Pharmacy. Students can register here.
Buffalo Hospital plans to continue holding monthly Scrub Club events during the 2025-26 school year, starting in October.
