Adult Mental Health Day Treatment Outpatient Program

The Adult Outpatient Mental Health Program offers a wide range of therapeutic and group activities tailored for you and your goals. The average program is 8 to 12 weeks, three days a week for three hours a day.  We provide assessment and treatment through a team approach that involves:

  • group psychotherapy
  • psycho-education
  • relaxation/activity therapy
  • social skills therapy
  • referral services

Referral and admission

You can be referred to the Adult Mental Health Outpatient Program by a psychiatrist, family practitioner, therapist, county agency, clergy, another hospital, a family member or by self-referral.

Adolescent Mental Health Day Treatment Program

Adolescent Day Treatment within Allina Health provides supportive outpatient treatment for teenagers (ages 13–18 years old) who are in school. This 8 to 12-week program meets three days a week for three hours and uses group psychotherapy and expressive therapy to increase coping skills and reduce symptoms that include:

  • cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
  • dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT
  • experiential learning
  • mindfulness practices
  • yoga and other forms of movement
  • relaxation and stress reduction techniques
  • music therapy

Partial Hospitalization-Adult and Adolescent

Our programs help adults and adolescents stay out of the hospital and get the support they need to heal at home. Our two-to four-week partial programs are directed by a psychiatrist in a group therapy environment.

Our program helps participants address:

  • Mood disorders
  • Anxiety disorders
  • Self-injury
  • Relational issues
  • Stress-related disorders
  • Family issues
  • Adolescent first psychosis episodes
