Mercy Hospital nurse honored for providing life-saving roadside CPR

[KSTP-TV News, February 24, 2021] Last summer Emily Roeder and her husband were driving north of the Twin Cities when the car in front of them drove off the road. They stopped to help and found the driver in cardiac arrest. Emily, a nurse at Allina Health's Mercy Hospital, began CPR and continued until first responders arrived. The person she saved was retired Richfield fire chief Wayne Kewitsch. Yesterday, the Minnesota State Patrol presented Emily with its Meritorious Citizenship Award as she, Wayne, and other first responders gathered to share their amazing story.
