“We build it right into the project,” Facilities Management Vice President Tony LaCroix-Dalluhn said. “We expect our contractors to deliver on that.”
For projects with price tags over $2 million, Allina Health requires that 15% of hard construction costs, including materials and labor, be dedicated to supporting minority or women-owned businesses — some located in the neighborhood around Allina’s south Minneapolis headquarters.
“The focus is how can we do our business in this neighborhood, support this neighborhood, and really leave a lasting impression,” said Tony.
