Are babies skipping purees and going straight to solids?

[WCCO Radio, August 20, 2024] Allison Golnik, MD, MPH an integrative pediatrician with Allina Health’s Penny George Institute for Health and Healing, was on WCCO Radio to talk about baby-led weaning. This form of feeding, which introduces babies to solid foods without the purees and baby food, made headlines when the New York Times published the results of a study that says baby-led weaning does not increase a child's risk of choking.

In the ten-minute interview, Dr. Golnik explained the pros and cons of baby-led weaning, and she also discussed some of the changes you may have noticed when it comes to transitioning babies from a liquid diet to a solid one.
