Acupuncture helps soon-to-be mom ease intense morning sickness

[Allina Newsroom, October 23, 2024] There’s morning sickness, and then there’s what Natalie Miles faced during her pregnancy.

“I was really sick,” Natalie said. “It was all day, every day.”

“Hyperemesis is a condition that is persistent and severe,” said Meghan Mabe, DCM, LAc, a provider at the Penny George Institute for Health and Healing who cares for patients at Allina Health United Women’s Health Clinic in St. Paul. “It's much worse than morning sickness — and if untreated, it can lead to dehydration, weight loss and some other complications."

Natalie says she was looking for a place that offered “multidisciplinary, holistic kind of care” for addressing her hyperemesis and overall care. She found it at Allina Health.

Watch the video to see how Meghan helped Natalie soothe her symptoms with acupuncture and bring more joy to her pregnancy.
