Allina Health provides Minnesota United FC Academy with mental health resources

[KARE 11 News, October 08, 2024] Allina Health and Minnesota United Football Club (MNUFC), the professional soccer team in the Twin Cities, teamed up to put the spotlight on prioritizing mental health in youth sports.

Like every Major League Soccer Club, MNUFC has a youth academy with teens as young as 14 playing an elite level of the game with hopes of eventually joining the soccer club’s best team. While these teens love the game, managing game performance, education and so much more can cause unbelievable stress. MNUFC wants to make sure these young players understand the importance of taking care of their mental health as they continue this journey.

Allina Health was happy to introduce the young players and their coaching staff to changetochill.org, an online mental health resource that helps teens understand what stress is, what may be causing it and provides exercises to help them better handle and manage their stressors. As the official health care provider for MNUFC, Allina Health is proud to ensure players are not just healthy physically, but mentally as well. Watch KARE 11’s story about this partnership below.
