A love of sewing helps provide comfort to cancer patients

[New Ulm Journal, November 16, 2024] Volunteers play such a vital role in helping Allina Health care teams provide exceptional care. Gwen Mack is one of those volunteers. Her good deeds have earned her the tile of Lemon Drop Lady! She donates lemon drop candies and homemade therapeutic corn bags to Allina Health Cancer Institute in New Ulm. Chemo can leave patients with cold hands and an uncomfortable taste and feeling in their mouths. The corn bags warm the hands, and the lemon drops help eliminate that yucky taste.

The Journal in New Ulm profiled Gwen and her mission to help others. Read the entire story here: Warm hands, hearts and lemon drops | News, Sports, Jobs - The Journal (nujournal.com).
