Athlete, who lost his sight after a car accident, prepares to run his first marathon

[WCCO-TV, November 12, 2024] Mahesh Mathew is a Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute athlete. Through Courage Kenny's sports and recreation program, he has participated in several adaptive sports, including Nordic skiing, alpine skiing, waterskiing, cycling, rock climbing, and more.

Most recently, he's taken up running. Mahesh thought it would be the perfect way for him and his guide dog, Vino, to exercise. Thanks to connections at Courage Kenny and other organizations, he's partnered with a guide runner named Michael Fuller. Together, Mahesh, Vino and Michael are preparing for a marathon. WCCO-TV joined them as they trained. Watch the story below.
