Protect yourself as cases of respiratory illnesses rise

[KSTP, December 31, 2024] Most states are reporting moderate or high levels of respiratory viruses which includes RSV, COVID and influenza. Frank Rhame, MD, an infectious disease specialist with Allina Health, spoke with KSTP-TV about a rise in cases observed at Allina Health hospitals and throughout the state.

Dr. Rhame recommends people make sure they are up to date on vaccinations, especially those in high risk groups such as the elderly, those with chronic illnesses and pregnant people. He reminds everyone to take good hygiene measures like washing hands, sneezing and coughing into your arm and staying home when sick.
