It is not just an anecdote; cardiologists say they see an increase in heart attacks during the holiday season. Steven Bradley, MD, MPH is a cardiologist with Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute. He says the increased stress that comes with holiday traditions, along with the sudden exertion from shoveling snow and the circulation of viruses all play a role in the increased number of heart attacks during this time of year.
Dr. Bradley talked to WCCO-TV about risk factors, how to decrease those risk factors and what to do if you feel symptoms of a heart attack. Watch the video below.
