Philanthropic giving creates places for expert care of the future

[Allina Health Newsroom, December 19, 2024] A construction site at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis is increasingly a towering visual example of Allina Health donor generosity.

It’s the framework for a future surgical and critical care center funded partly by philanthropic giving to Allina Health Foundation.

“This new building will allow us to marry the great care at Abbott with high-tech spaces,” said Dr. Jean Watson, medical staff project lead. “It cements our place as a top hospital in Minnesota and the Upper Midwest.”

  • More offerings at Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute
  • Training scholarships for emergency medical technicians
  • Music therapy for geriatric patients
  • Clinical research projects to support improved treatments
  • Short-term prescriptions for under- or uninsured patients
