Allina Health chaplain discusses sobriety, service and spiritual care

[Busy Living Sober, July 01, 2024] Chaplain Michael Le Buhn is a spiritual care manager at Allina Health. He uses his training as a chaplain, experiences as a veteran and his journey of sobriety to help provide exceptional care to Allina Health patients.

Le Buhn is very open about his sobriety to hold himself accountable and to help others understand the journey. [WCCO-TV, April 23, 2020]   Allina Health and several other Minnesota organizations are working together to donate bicycles to workers performing essential jobs in the Twin Cities amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Tia Martinson, of Free Bikes For Kids, told WCCO that her organization has partnered with Allina Health, Quality Bike Products and Slow Roll Twin Cities to give away bikes to workers still on the job as the novel coronavirus spreads in the state.

[Skilled Nursing News, April 16, 2020]   Allina Health has built on its existing partnership with Presbyterian Homes & Services, a St. Paul-based provider of senior living and care, to create a COVID-19 cohort in its co-owned Interlude Suites , a 50-bed skilled nursing facility connected to an Allina hospital. The plan provides benefits to both the hospital and the senior care provider, Downing explained, as the entities look to fight back the COVID-19 tide in the Twin Cities and beyond.

[MPR News, April 15, 2020]   Calls for ambulances have dropped 10 to 40 percent statewide. While sheltering in place has reduced common types of emergency calls across the country, Bruce Hildebrandt, ambulance operations manager for Allina Health EMS and president of the Minnesota Ambulance Association, said he’s worried the decrease in calls means people are forgoing the help they need because they’re afraid to ride in an ambulance that previously transported a COVID-19 patient.
