We are looking for qualified college students to join our team and support a variety of system office projects during a paid 10 week summer internship or residency.

Summary: St. Francis Administration is a department within the 89 staffed bed St. Francis hospital.  The department is looking for a summer intern to assist with various projects, with one primary project to assist in the organization and migration of document folders to Sharepoint in order to promote transition to this new format.

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist and contribute to the team!
  • Accepts designated, business-focus projects to research, propose ideas and solutions, and complete a final project during the internship.
  • Learns and becomes proficient on internal software systems, specifically Sharepoint.

Summary:  The Community and Health Improvement Intern will support specific community health improvement and community engagement initiatives in alignment with the Allina Health Community Benefit & Engagement Survey.

Responsibilities: 

  • Community Health Improvement:
    • Support day-to-day operations of system-wide community health improvement initiatives, including Health Powered Kids, a youth well-being program; Change to Chill, a teen mental well-being program; and Hello4Health, a social connectedness initiative.
    • Assist with the development and early implementation of a capacity building train model across all programs with a focus on increasing reach and impact.
  • Evaluation & Research
    • Conduct literature reviews and prepare best practices for priority initiatives.
    • Support program evaluation as needed.
  • Provide general administrative support as needed.

Location: Hybrid – we’ll ask that they come into the Commons on Wednesdays, other in-person team meetings, and team/community events as needed.

Summary:  Cancer care from screening to diagnostics to treatment to post treatment is provided across Allina Health at the Allina Health Cancer Institute (AHCI).  Patient safety, quality, and accreditation is foundational in providing the services.  The intern will have the ability to learn more about Allina Health and the AHCI through a variety of experiences.

Responsibilities: 

  •  Attend a variety of AHCI Safety, Quality and Accreditation-related meetings to observe and learn.
  • Project work to be determined but will be related to a quality improvement project and/or meeting accreditation standard requirements.
  • It may include data abstraction, medical record chart reviews, taking minutes/notes, putting documents/presentations together, creating reports.
  • Opportunity to do employee rounding for high reliability application.

Summary:  Intern will be a member of Consumer Experience Strategy team working on projects that support continuous improvement of a differentiated end-to-end consumer experience system-wide & use consumer insights, mainly from patient experience surveys, to understand opportunities and strengths.  Team of six, highly collaborative culture. Regular partnership with and exposure to other system office teams, clinic, and hospital teams.

Summary:  Allina Health has positions in Health care that support caregivers, staff, and the families we serve every day.  The fleet Services department works with vehicle budgeting, purchases, licensing, and maintenance of roughly 300 vehicles from courier vans to emergency vehicles.  In this exciting position you will learn what role the Fleet Services staff play in a large health care system as well as use of modern software.

Summary:  Direct response marketing in new to Allina as of the Fall ’22 season and quickly expanding its capabilities in ’23. We will be working to establish and grow our monthly response rate as close to 3 percent as possible, in both digital and written appeals. There are at least two appeals  per month on the calendar established , and we could use help with our communication between our vendor (True Sense) and marketing partners, the Foundation and key customer groups, including cancer, mental health and Abbott Northwestern, who each have a formal representative body to the Foundation. We seeking to implement a “matching gift” strategy and work on how Major Gift officers work with givers for mail and digital appeals: our Mid-level Giving practice, will debut in ’23.

Responsibilities: Assists and follows through with direct response-focused projects, including its data aspects, allowing the team to focus and understand how we are advancing with the metric focus of ideas and solutions. As of May, we hope to have a “matching gift” program in place, and effect response rate deeply. Accept growing responsibility and provides output on challenges to the team. Assists in creating campaign performance reports, across social media and Allina’s built in marketing capacity.

Summary:  We are a team of 9.  Very high engagement (EE Engagement score of 98), and a team that has a lot of fun.  This role will require them to collaborate with every member of the team, and each member will provide them with their insight from both their Revenue Cycle experience, and the wide-range of experiences outside of Revenue Cycle.  This role will have high visibility throughout the organization as we meet with many senior leaders throughout the system.

Responsibilities: 

We are a relatively new (created in 2020) Revenue Cycle department that interacts with many operational departments throughout Allina.  We monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and connect with other Revenue Cycle areas and Allina-wide operational departments to ensure that Allina’s revenue stream is as healthy and strong as possible. This internship would assist with developing the sustainability program, reporting on sustainability metrics, including greenhouse gas emissions, and communicating about the initiatives.
