Nurses Week: Prioritizing the wellbeing of nurses

[HealthLeaders Magazine, May 06, 2024] The wellbeing and success of a nurse affects everyone, from the patient to the medical team, according to HealthLeaders. With that in mind, the publication reached out to April Prunty, PhD, RN, Allina Health’s director of nursing professional development, to learn how the health system is prioritizing the wellbeing of nurses.

"One of the key tenets of nurse wellbeing is really understanding what wellbeing means for the individual nurse," Prunty said. " It does look different for everybody, but there's some key principles that can be woven throughout to support wellbeing."
