Informatics Pharmacy Residency Program

This PGY2 pharmacy residency program builds on Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and PGY1 pharmacy residency programs to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists in specialized areas of practice. PGY2 residencies provide residents with opportunities to function independently as practitioners by conceptualizing and integrating accumulated experience and knowledge and incorporating both into the provision of patient care or other advanced practice settings.

The Allina Health PGY2 Pharmacy Informatics program will prepare residents to assume the role of a pharmacy informaticist. Projects and longitudinal activities will relate to the resident’s interest in pharmacy informatics and technology. The resident will be exposed to electronic health record management (inpatient, ambulatory and oncology), automation and operational administration, medication management and smart pump analytics, medication safety applied to technology, design and human factors, clinical decision support, operational reporting and analytics, and informatics administration.
