Blood pressure medications 101
One in every three adult Americans has high blood pressure—that’s about 75 million people. Having high blood pressure puts you at risk for heart disease and stroke. If your provider has told you that you have high blood pressure, he or she may recommend blood pressure medication to help control that condition, also known as hypertension.
