Community benefit & engagement

cbe intro

Through Community Benefit and Engagement, we demonstrate our commitment to our community and neighbors. This commitment includes partnerships, volunteerism, charitable contributions and health improvement initiatives. In 2023, we provided $397.4 million in community benefit through a variety of programs, partnerships and investments.

Every three years, our hospitals complete a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) to identify community health needs and create a plan to address them. Our 2023-2025 Community Health Needs Assessment plan is focused on mental wellness, substance use, social determinants of health and health-related social needs, and access to culturally responsive care. Allina Health addresses these priorities through a range of strategies such as charitable contributions to local nonprofits, community health improvement programming, socially responsible investments, employee volunteerism, patient care innovations, community partnerships and policy advocacy.
