The Allina Health Neuroscience, Spine and Pain Institute (AHNSPI) was formally launched in April 2023 with a singular focus: to elevate and advance our offerings in these three key areas across the care continuum. The certifications and recognitions underscore AHNSPI’s position as a regional leader in these fields: Stroke patients and their families can access advanced are at Certified Comprehensive Stroke Centers at Abbott Northwestern Hospital and United Hospital, as well as at Primary Stroke Centers at Mercy Hospital and Mercy Hospital – Unity Campus. AHNSPI also features a Level 4 Epilepsy Center – the highest national designation offered by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers – at Abbott Northwestern Hospital and neurocritical care units at Abbott Northwestern and United Hospitals. The Givens Brain Tumor Center offers coordinated, whole-person care and a range of treatment options for adults with brain tumors.
Throughout 2023 and now, in 2024, AHNSPI has emphasized the recruitment of expert providers in epilepsy, spine care and other specialties to both Allina Health’s metro and regional hospitals, so that we can expand access to expert care in all the communities we serve.
